Singapore and Vietnam Strengthen Ties with New Trade & Investment Initiatives

At the 18th Singapore-Vietnam Connectivity Ministerial Meeting on 18 September, both nations discussed collaboration in energy, carbon credits, agriculture trade, innovation, and industrial park development. These initiatives aim to strengthen trade and investment ties.

One highlight was the launch of the Singapore-Vietnam Innovation Talent Exchange Programme in 2025, which will allow 300 Singaporean talents (aged up to 35) and 300 Vietnamese talents (aged up to 30) to work in innovation sectors in each other's countries for up to two years annually. Fourteen companies and 16 Singaporeans have already pre-registered, representing sectors such as technology, medtech, finance, and education.

Additionally, Enterprise Singapore and the Vietnam Foreign Investment Agency signed an MoU to establish a Singapore unit within the agency, aiming to boost Singaporean investments in Vietnam.
