Johor-S’pore economic zone to create 100,000 quality jobs, says MB

A new joint agreement between Malaysia and Singapore, expected to be in force by end 2024, centres on the establishment of a special economic zone between Singapore and neighbouring Johor, the southernmost state of the Malay peninsula.
Speaking at the Johor International Student Leaders Conference 2024, Johor menteri besar (Chief Minister) Onn Hafiz Ghazi said he was confident in the project's ability to "transform the [economic] landscape of the state".
